Airguns are not toys. Airguns are recommended for use by those 16 years of age or older. Adult supervision required. Misuse or careless use may cause serious injury. Do not brandish or display your airgun in public. It may confuse people and it may be a crime. Police and others may think an airgun is a firearm. Do not change the coloration or markings to make it look more like a firearm. Buyer and user should conform to all laws governing the use and ownership of their airgun. The person handling the airgun and anyone nearby should always wear protective eyewear. Read all instructions before using. Always use care and shoot safely.
First --- before you do anything else --- THROW AWAY THE SCOPE!Do not attempt to install this China made Junk Scope on this nicely made in Spain air rifle! (Use the scope for bird watching, spotting, but NEVER on any rifle)!I give this rifle a 4.5 star rating. It is much lighter than most in its class due to the hollow plastic stock and the one detraction (the reason for not getting 5 stars) that the barrel is a lightweight thin-walled steel encapsulated in a thick plastic sleeve (rather than the standard thick solid steel barrel). However, this light weight makes it a joy to carry, since such air rifles cannot practically have slings.I installed a 4X-40 fixed power Swift scope (after rejecting due to inaccuracy several 2x7 and 3x9 variable power made in China scopes). The 4X power is sufficient for this rifle's range and with this Swift scope (bought is on sale for $45) it now places 9 of 10 shots in a dime sized target at 30 feet (this is after about 500 pellets). The reason I got this one (after a long time researching many) is my $600 RWS 350 Magnum (made in Germany) with a 3x9-42 Swift Premier Scope weighs about 10 lbs(I sometimes get tennis elbow cranking its near 40 lbs cocking pull) --- was hoping I'd get a quality lightweight that can be easily cocked, while still having good power and accuracy (at a low price that I can keep in the truck and not worry). This rifle surpassed my expectations --- at about $160 with the quality Swift 4X scope --- it is several grades above the rest in it class. While many US companies (Beeman, Daisy, Crossman, Ruger, etc.) have their rifles now produced in China (known for questionable quality), this European made air rifle is better than others twice its price! Here are some pointers that will help make its performance optimum:1) Shoot at least 200 pellets to "break it in". In the beginning the action, cranking and trigger will be stiff. Center your scope , but expect to recenter it after about 500 rounds (at this point your action will be smooth, and once your QUALITY Scope is zeroed in, it will remain so for a very long time).2) After 200 pellets clean the barrel from lead depositing. You can use a small cotton wad (oiled) then dry, until it comes out clean, that can be pushed through the breach towards the tip of the barrel (never the other way around). Push it slowly, so it makes contact at all time with the walls. Do not spend money on fancy oils, cleaning agents, etc. --- use Dextron II Automatic Transmission Fluid (the red stuff you use for your car's transmission) since it is one of the best cleaners and LUBRICANTS that can never gum up! I use a long bamboo BBQ skewer to push the rod through (or buy an aluminum .177 rod --- soft metal or wood, so walls are not damaged by contact). Oh, and NEVER buy a .22 air rifle ( their pellets travel much slower and drop quickly making long shots near impossible). Buy only a .177 air gun (with the right pellets, a 1/2 dollar coin can be hit at 100 yards with ease)!3) Use the same pellets all the time! The slightest difference in weight, manufacturer, and even shape, will change the accuracy! For this rifle, heavier than 8 grain but not over 10.5 grain pellets work best.4)I have found that with air rifles of this power (1000 fps) the VERY BEST are the domed ones made in Germany at 8.3 grains (superior accuracy for target and superb knock down and penetration for hunting)!
